Family

The Lloyd family consist of David, Donna, Caleb and Madilyn. We are just like any other family and are trying to make the most of our lives. The post found within this section are about our everyday life from my point of view and maybe an occasional musing from David.

25 Days of Thankfulness

Saturday, October 30th, 2010

On November 1, I am starting a blog post series called “25 Days of Thankfulness“.  This will be the first time I have ever done a series of more than two post on a related topic. Each day from November 1 until Thanksgiving Day I will blog about one significant thing in which I am thankful to have in my life. I will end each post by asking, “What are you thankful for today?”  (more…)

Another pleasant weekend

We had another relaxing weekend with perfect fall weather. It is nice to have a slower paced life for a few weeks. I know that before long the speed of life will pick up to an unmanageable pace again. (more…)

Awesome Weekend

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

We had an awesome weekend with perfect weather, lots of family time and an extra day off. We started our weekend with a Friday afternoon visit to Yahoo Farms in Jasper to find the perfect pumpkins. Caleb found a pumpkin for carving and Madilyn found a pumpkin for painting. While at Yahoo Farms we looked at the animals in the petting zoo and took a walk in the butterfly garden.   (more…)

Being like Jonah

Monday, October 11th, 2010

For the past year and a half we have been like Jonah, God told us to go to one place and we chose to go to another. We have been “trapped” in the belly of a whale of our own making. (more…)

A perfect weekend

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

The Lloyd Family had a great weekend and we are looking forward to next weekend which will be an extra day long due to a teacher furlough day. We have already made plans to fill the entire weekend.  This past Saturday, David and Caleb helped a local church that we have visited with some renovations. I love that Caleb is learning to volunteer and help others with a spirit of love and care.  The world needs more people who are willing to step up and help others when they see a need. (more…)

A Season of Hope

I have been dreading the arrival of the fall and winter seasons for the past few months. Just the smell in the air and drop in temperature is a reminder of the events of last Fall. Kid Free- Day 3.5

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Our kid free vacation ended today. We decided to take the long way home in order to stop by Mercier Orchards. We wanted to pick up a few goodies for ourselves and for my sister as a thank you for staying with the kids. It was a beautiful day for a drive in the North Georgia Mountains. I had never been to Mercier Orchards and was impressed with the large selection of goods they had to choose from. (more…)

We started our day with a wonderful breakfast of fresh fruit, croissants, and quiche in the gazebo. Once again it was nice to have a meal without rushing. After breakfast we got around and went shopping in the Dahlonega Square. There were a lot of cute shops to visit. We had lunch at Caruso’s Italian Restaurant. They make their own pizza crust daily and the pizza tasted awesome.   (more…)

Kid Free- Day 2

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

We started our morning with a breakfast of French toast, fresh fruit, and strawberries in the Lily Creek Lodge Bed and Breakfast Tree House. It was such a relaxing place to start the day. After breakfast we headed to the pool to lounge around. It is unfortunate that I needed to do some reading for a paper that I have due early next week. So while I read my not so fun technical reading, David read a Stephen King book. It has been forever since he has had time to read for pleasure. (more…)
