Family

The Lloyd family consist of David, Donna, Caleb and Madilyn. We are just like any other family and are trying to make the most of our lives. The post found within this section are about our everyday life from my point of view and maybe an occasional musing from David.

Almost back to normal

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Life is starting to get somewhat back to normal around the Lloyd house, but we are not there yet.

Caleb seems to be enjoying school. He has joined the drama club and is going to be working behind the scenes on the first play of the year. He plans on moving from behind the scenes to the stage later this year. In addition to drama club Caleb is still active in scouts and has several activities planned with them during this month. It looks like the Lloyd taxi service will be up and running at full speed this year. (more…)

Family Update

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Late last week I got a sneak peek at the new branding and designs for David’s business. The project is shaping up and hopefully will be ready for release soon. I think that people will be quite impressed with the new look and feel of the company. (more…)

HysterSisters- A support group

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Many people misunderstand the feelings, emotions and pain of hysterectomy. Hysterectomies deal with both physical and emotional pain. For many women a hysterectomy is a solution of last resort, not a first resort. For me a hysterectomy was medically necessary to improve the quality and health of my life. Someone actually suggested to me that a hysterectomy is no more painful than a c-section. It was also suggested by that same person that a c-section and hysterectomy were so similar in nature that by day 4 or 5 I should be back to normal and able to resume normal activities. I had to bite my tongue on that one. (more…)

Back to school

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Caleb started high school on Monday. I hate that I was not able to be at school these first few days. I know most parents don’t get to be in the building for their kids, I just hate that I do get to be there for him, but could not be. Caleb has a pretty good schedule with all of his academics in the morning and his electives in the afternoon. He is in all advanced classes, so he should be challenged and learn a lot this year. Surgery

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

I arrived at Cherokee Northside Hospital yesterday morning around 5:45 for surgery.  All seems to have gone well and I should be released sometime after lunch this afternoon.  I am in some pain, which is to be expected and am very sleepy. The doctors were able to leave the ovaries, but had to remove both the uterus and cervix. Tests will be run to try to figure out exactly why I never properly healed from the D&C that was performed in November.  I am just looking forward to feeling better and being my healthy self again.

I would like to thank Jessica for spending the night with us on Thursday and taking care of the kids in the morning.  I am told that Madilyn woke up in a great mood and was very good. Also, thanks to Sara who came and surprised me with a short visit.

My in-laws arrived yesterday afternoon to help out for a few days.  It will be a great help to have them here to help with Madilyn.  I have been informed I must be on bed rest for at least 2 weeks, and after that point I can slowly resume normal activities.  I am not a lay in bed do nothing kind of person so the next few days will be hard.

Keep us in your prayers as the healing continues.

Camp, Orthodontics, & a Black Eye

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

We picked Caleb up from Space Academy on Friday. He had a great time and wants to go back again next summer. He seemed to be in his element while there. He did a combination program of space explorations and aviation. He said that he enjoyed the aviation part more than the space part, but could not really explain why. I am so glad that he enjoyed his time at camp. After the disaster of a science teacher he had last year we are trying to do whatever we can to get him refocused and enjoying science again. (more…)

Summer is ending…

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

We are in our last two weeks of summer.  It is hard to believe that it is already time to get ready to go back to school. Time has seemed to fly by this summer.

Caleb is away at Space Academy in Huntsville this week so the house is quiet.  His summer has not been that eventful this year because of my college schedule. I am just glad that we were able to send him to Scout Camp and Space Academy this summer so that his entire summer was not spent at home. (more…)

Smile

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Not much has gone on at the Lloyd house this week. We spent a lot of time at doctor appointments for routine check ups. We can all still see, we still have all of our teeth, and for the most part are all in general good health. I am still having health issues but thats a post for another day. I have decided to follow through with a decision that I had been pondering for the past several months. (more…)

Lloyd Weekly

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

This past week was a one busy for us.  Seems like our family is always on the go with work, school and life in general.

On Friday, we celebrated my birthday by taking a trip to Helen Georgia. While there we visited Habersham Winery (it is our favorite) and stocked up on our favorite wines.  We played a game of  mini golf and even though it was my birthday David did not let me win.  We had lunch at the Troll Tavern by the river and finished up our day in Helen at the Hansel and Gretel Candy Kitchen.  For dinner we ate at a local Italian restaurant called Provino’s.  My dinner was free and I did not have to endure being sung too, which was great.  After Madilyn went to bed David and I took a trip to The Frosty Frog to have dessert and just spend a few minutes alone talking.  Over all I had a good birthday. Life goes on

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

For years my  life has been like a roller coaster, with ups and downs, fun times, scary times and everything in between.  Right now I am in one of the in between times, where I do not really know how or what I feel.  All I can do is get up everyday and keep doing my best because life does not stop for bad days and unexpected situations.  Life goes on no matter what situations may occur.  I will be fine it will just take time. If you are a person who prays and believes in prayer please pray that I find peace with this situation. (more…)
