The Lloyd family consist of David, Donna, Caleb and Madilyn. We are just like any other family and are trying to make the most of our lives. The post found within this section are about our everyday life from my point of view and maybe an occasional musing from David.

Day 16- My Doctor

Today I am thankful for my doctor and access to good medical care. This is especially important to me since I am having surgery later today. I am thankful that after many years of having health issues I finally found a doctor that takes time to listen to me and really cares about me and my well being. (more…)

Day 14- Travel

Today I am thankful for the opportunity to travel. I have been able to go on several trips that included destinations such as Paris, London, Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. I have enjoyed every minute of these trips. I love experiencing and seeing new things, and travel is a great way to do this. (more…)

Day 10- My Job

A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D.  Unfortunately, they don’t have a J.O.B.  ~”Fats” Domino

Today I am thankful for my job. My heart breaks for all of the families I know that are unemployed or under employed.

For the past three years I have not received a pay raise, I have paid more for benefits, and I am constantly being asked to do more with less. (more…)

Today I am thankful for fall. I love the fall season. The world comes alive with color. The temperatures are mild, which are perfect for me since I don’t like the oppressive heat of summer or the freezing temperatures of winter. (more…)

Day 7- Medical Insurance

“$79,000 you have got to be kidding me” ~ Donna Lloyd upon reviewing a 2 day hospital bill.

Today I am thankful for medial insurance.  Recently we have received several medical statements and bills related to David’s accident. I was floored by the high cost of medical care. His hospital bill alone was $79,000, not including the surgeon or anesthesiologist. (more…)
