Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves — slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future. ~Thich Nat Hahn
Today I am thankful for my friend Earl and his friend Lady Grey. Yes, today I am talking about tea. If you know me you know that I am a hot tea person. I really enjoy any flavor and love to try new teas. My cabinet is bursting with flavored teas of all sorts.
For me there is nothing more relaxing that sipping on a cup of hot tea. I enjoy starting my day with a of hot tea and a few minutes to focus. I like to sneak into the kitchen and try to get my tea made before anyone else is up out of bed. If I am successful I get to enjoy my cup of tea uninterrupted and relaxed, which is a wonderful way to start off any day. This does not happen often, because my daughter has some kind of radar installed that alerts her to the fact that I am up and about.
I can be having a difficult day at the office and one smell of the aromas of my tea and breathing in the soothing steam can bring me to a place of calmness. One sip affirms in me that whatever the difficult situation is, it too shall pass and I will survive.
What are you thankful for today?
