When people are laughing, they’re generally not killing each other. ~Alan Alda
Today I am thankful for laughter. Hearing a laugh can bring a smile to my face even when I do not feel like smiling. For the most part laughter is contagious. Laughter can create good will and break down barriers. Laughter can bring people together. Laughter can be a powerful medicine.
I love listening to Madilyn laugh while playing with David or Caleb. Her laughter sounds so happy. I remember feeling the same way when Caleb was little and he would go into fits of laughter. I enjoy hearing children laugh and express their happiness in the simplest things.
I really have never been a laugh out loud kind of person. Sometimes when watching television David will laugh hysterically and then say to me, “didn’t you think that was funny? You are not laughing.” When I find things to be funny, I laugh inside or crack a small smile. I hate that I am this way. I do not know why I find it hard to laugh out loud.
What are you thankful for today?
