Today I am thankful for the freedoms that I have as an American woman. I am thankful that I was born into a country that does not oppress me simply because of my gender. In some countries women can not vote, drive, or go to school. In some countries women have no choice of a marriage partner and they are treated like property and not human beings.
I am thankful that I have the freedom to pursue an education and a career. I am thankful that I was able to choose my spouse. I am thankful that I can make decisions on my own and not be told that I have no rights to an opinion or thought because I am a woman.
