Day 22~ American Woman

“Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.” ~Louisa May Alcott

We don’t get to choose where we will be born or what nationally we will be born into. Today I am thankful that I was born in America. I consider myself blessed to have been born in a country in which I have so many freedoms~ especially as a woman.

I am thankful that I was born in a country that does not oppress me simply because of my gender.  I am thankful that even though I was born a female, I was allowed to live and thrive. I am thankful that even though I am a woman I was able to pursue a higher education, career of my choice, and the husband on my choice. I am thankful that my dreams and aspirations can be pursued and not stifled simply because I am a woman.  These are freedoms that many of us do not think about or appreciate, these same freedoms are denied to millions of women across the globe.

What are you thankful for today?
