Lloyd Weekly

It’s been a while since my last post. Real life has been so busy that I have not had a lot of time to update my blog, Facebook, or Twitter.

Caleb is now a junior in  high school. He has two AP classes, 2 Honors classes, French 3, and Journalism. He really has a tough work load. Last week he auditioned for a part in the school play called “Lockdown” and got the part so very soon he will be busy with play practice. He is also a member of the school council and still taking piano lessons. I have no idea how he is going to fit everything into his days.

Madilyn started pre-K this week. It is really not a big change for her since she is attending pre-K at the same building she has gone to for daycare for the past several years.  On Monday, she started a weekly dance class that incorporates ballet and gymnastics. She has been begging us for months to be able to go to dance class. I finally found one that works with our schedule so we are going to give it a shot.

I am starting year 16 as a public educator. To be honest I really thought that I would be in a different position this year. But once again the promotion has eluded me. Sometimes I wonder if my four additional years of college and moving up two levels on the degree scale was worth the time, effort, and money since I am not seeing the rewards of the hard work. I guess I just have to get over it because I cannot undo the past and I need to be content with where I am.

David is still working as hard as ever. His job may get a little busier in the coming weeks since one of the programmers that have been working on a project with him has resigned. Hopefully they can find a replacement quickly so that does not have to work a ton of hours to meet deadlines. Of course the extra hours would be nice for the bank account, since my pay keeps getting cut.
