Adoption is when a child grew in its mommy’s heart instead of her tummy. ~Author Unknown
Today I am thankful for adoption. Without adoption we would not have the family that we have. My little girl would not be in my life.
November is National Adoption Month, and today is National Adoption Day. Today thousands of families will become legal and forever families as they finalize their adoptions. Children will finally have a home to call theirs forever. Today I congratulate all of these “new” families and I pray for all for all of the children that are still waiting to find a forever home.
I am thankful for all of the adoptive families that I know. I smile when I see them with their wonderful children. I am thankful that Madilyn will grow up with knowing other adopted children, so she will not feel like she is different.
Adoption is not for everyone but you can still help children find their forever homes. You can do this by praying for the children and praying for people to step up and adopt. You can provide financial resources to families in your community that you know are adopting. You can provide financial resources to foster parents. You can speak up when you hear people talking negatively about adoption. For every bad story you hear counter it with a good story.
I love my daughter and my family and I am so thankful that our lives have been blessed and forever changed through adoption.
What are you thankful for today?
