Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn. Elizabeth Lawrence
Today I am thankful for the season of Fall. I love the fall season. Georgia is just so beautiful in the fall. I don’t remember enjoying fall so much when I lived in Florida. Of course, I was younger when I lived in Florida so maybe I was just not yet old enough to appreciate the change of the seasons.
While I enjoy summer and all of the boating, vacations, and other summer fun they are just too hot for me. I really dislike winter. I do not like being cold and it seems that I can never get warm enough once winter comes. While I like spring my allergies, get the best of me and I just cannot enjoy all of the beauty of that season. I guess I love the fall because that is the time of year I am most comfortable.
There is just so much to love about fall.
- The wonderful colors. I love that the trees in my yard look like they are on fire with bright reds and orange colors.
- The air seems so crisp and fresh, the sky so blue.
- I love a fire in the fireplace at night. The flames remind me of the colors of the leaves on the trees.
- The sound of leaves crunching under my feet.
- Crock pot meals of stew and chili.
- Hot cups of tea at night—who am I kidding I drink hot tea year round.
- Sweaters and boots. I love wearing them, so snug and comfortable.
- All things pumpkin- painting, coffee, bread and so much more.
- Family trips to the apple orchard.
- Drives through the mountains.
There is just so much to love about the fall season. I am so thankful that each year summer is followed by fall.
What are you thankful for today?
