The text of Philippians Chapter 2 very rich and thought provoking if the reader will allow it to be. In just 30 short verses, I find myself being challenged to be a better Christian and to rethink the way I do some things. (more…)

Today I woke up with a pounding headache. I have no desire to eat the things I need to eat. It would be so much easier to skip breakfast, eat a school lunch, and order dinner out. (more…)
Buddy up…
Saturday, October 15th, 2011“Don’t wait for someone to take you under their wing. Find a good wing and climb up underneath it.” ~Frank C. Bucaro
Shortly after I decided that I needed to make some major life changes and get my health and weight under control I contacted my friend Shannon. I have known Shannon since my college years. In 1991, we both had the bodies and metabolism of great looking 19 year old college students who could eat anything and not worry about weight gain. She had inspired me by her Facebook status updates and blog post about her weight loss journey. (more…)

It has been a overcast, rainy, and dreary week. The weather for the weekend promises to be perfect. I hope that our weatherman is correct since we have a jammed packed day of fun outdoor activities planned for today. (more…)
Pumpkin Painting
Friday, October 14th, 2011This weekend Madilyn carried on with our newest family tradition of having a painted pumpkin as our kitchen table center piece. She was super excited to paint the pumpkin. I have had several people ask me how this came to be a tradition. It was not really planned but turned out to be so much fun that we decided to make it a Lloyd family tradition. In life it is truly the simple spontaneous things that can lead to treasured family traditions. (more…)

This is absolutely not the case with the ladies at Life Bible Church, and it is truly refreshing. (more…)
Why the surprise?
Tuesday, October 11th, 2011
With adoption becoming a more talked about issue it puzzles me that people act so surprised when they find out Madilyn is adopted. Sometimes I want to ask them why they are surprised but I never do. (more…)
Busy Weekend….
Monday, October 10th, 2011We have had such a great family weekend. It was super busy but fun. It seems like it has been forever since we had nothing to do but hang out for an entire weekend. I is so nice that we can spend so much time together now that I am done with school. I am so glad that I have tomorrow off as a furlough day, because I need to rest a little before starting a new work week.
Week in review

I can not believe it is already October. This year seems to be flying by. I love the weather we have had during the past few days. It is cool in the morning and warm in the afternoons. I also enjoy the sunrises that we have in October. They seem to be more beautiful than the others we have during the rest of the year. The leaves are slowly starting to turn into bright reds and oranges making a beautiful sight. I think a family road trip to see the fall color change needs to be planned. (more…)
