Yes, you read that right… my son is now 19 years old. Our baby boy is no longer a baby . He has not been a baby for a long time. However, when I look at him I still see my baby.
He has turned into such a great young man and adult. As parents, it is scary to see the child that used to depend on you for everything becoming more and more independent. I felt this fear when we sent him off to college last fall. I felt it even more when he moved to California for the summer to work for NASA as an Intern. Where did all the years go?
I am so proud of him and his accomplishments. Caleb has always been a good boy and wise beyond his years and often times too smart for his own good. He graduated high school as a top student and AP Scholar. He has finished his 1st year of college as an honor student and a GPA high enough to receive the full HOPE Scholarship amount. Since he was 5 years old, he had a dream of working for NASA, he pursued that dream and is now living the reality (at least for this summer).
Caleb has always been a good boy and wise beyond his years and often times too smart for his own good. I am thankful that we did not have turbulent teen years with him. We never had to worry about drugs, grades, or many of the other issues that parents of teens have to deal with. He has been a wonderful big brother to Madilyn. We could not have asked for a better son. Our prayers for him as he moves into his adult years is that he will continue to grow not only in physical maturity, but in spiritual maturity.
Happy 19th Birthday Caleb. You are a blessing to our family and we love you very much.
