The Lloyd Family had a great weekend and we are looking forward to next weekend which will be an extra day long due to a teacher furlough day. We have already made plans to fill the entire weekend. This past Saturday, David and Caleb helped a local church that we have visited with some renovations. I love that Caleb is learning to volunteer and help others with a spirit of love and care. The world needs more people who are willing to step up and help others when they see a need.
While the boys were working, Madilyn and I spent time reading books and playing tea party. Madilyn is non-stop and I needed a nap by the end of the afternoon. I am glad that she likes to “read” and be read too. We really need to add some books to her collection because if I have to read “If you give a Mouse a Cookie” one more time I may crack.
We spent Saturday night shopping in Dawsonville at the outlet mall. Madilyn needed a new winter jacket and Caleb needed some jeans. Getting him to try on anything is like pulling teeth. He insisited that he did not need jeans and that he could just wear his shorts. Sometimes I wonder what he is thinking.
Sunday we had a great day. We went to church and heard a really good sermon about not being a passive Christian and developing a real relationship with God. After church we headed to Provino’s for a delicious lunch. After lunch all of us, except Caleb, took a long afternoon nap. To cap off our weekend we went to see our friend and magician, Evan Reynolds, perform his magic tricks. He was part of the pre-show for Geoff Williams. It was great to see Evan again and try to figure out his tricks. The whole family had fun watching and listening to Geoff. He is not only a magician but he is also a pretty funny comedian.
It has been a long time since we just went and and did something for the fun of it. I am glad we decided to go to the magic show. We had the perfect weekend at the Lloyd house and I am looking forward to many more in the coming weeks.
