We had an awesome weekend with perfect weather, lots of family time and an extra day off. We started our weekend with a Friday afternoon visit to Yahoo Farms in Jasper to find the perfect pumpkins. Caleb found a pumpkin for carving and Madilyn found a pumpkin for painting. While at Yahoo Farms we looked at the animals in the petting zoo and took a walk in the butterfly garden.
Later David and I went out for a coffee date. The local Starbucks was overrun with teenagers so we took our yummy drinks to the park and gazebo in Downtown Canton. The park was nice and quiet and reminded me of much simpler times when David and I were students at Lee College. When we were students, we were broke so most of our dates occurred in Alumni Park at Lee. Oh, the memories that came to mind while David and I sat in the park drinking our coffee and talking.
Saturday Caleb and David spent time volunteering at our new church home, Life Bible Church. While they were working Madilyn and I spent time playing. Madilyn, also painted her pumpkin, which will be the centerpiece for our kitchen table for the next several weeks. On Saturday night we went to the LBC annual Fall Festival. We had a good time eating, carving our pumpkin and talking with others.
Sunday was our day of rest. After the busy day we had on Saturday we all needed a break. We had an awesome church service that focused on new life and obedience. We met in the newly renovated and expanded space. There is still work to do, but so far everything looks great at the church.
Monday was a relaxing day that consisted of just hanging out. We did manage to make a trip to the local park and to Brusters. I really enjoy long weekends and spending time with my family.
