Valentine’s Day

I don’t pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.– Author Unknown

I am not really a big fan of Valentine’s Day. I think that too many couples do not show affection for each other through-out the year and then try to make up for it all in one day. I like the randomness of affection my husband shows to me. Flowers for no reason, dinners out, and special times together that happen spontaneously mean more to me than a gift on Valentine’s Day.  Occasionally we exchange gifts on Valentine’s Day, but we don’t feel compelled to do so just because the date on the calendar says we should.

God has blessed me with a wonderful husband who understands my need to be loved, cherished, and pampered everyday not just on the days that Halmark says he should. I am thankful that David truly loves me. I am also thankful that he demonstrates that love to me on a daily basis. I hope that he feels as loved each and every day as I do.
