Today I am linking up with all of the other ladies at “The Simple Woman’s Daybook” site. The goal of the site is for people stop and take a few minutes to focus on their present moment in time. Sometimes we are way to busy thinking about and doing things for the future that we skip right past the present.
For Today- March 18, 2012
Outside my window…It looks like spring has arrived in Georgia. The trees are starting to bloom and my bermuda grass is starting to green. The weather the past few days has been great.
I am thinking… my kids are growing up too fast. Madilyn starts pre-K in August and Caleb will be a junior. Madilyn is playing right now and she just looks so big and grown up. She is no longer looking like a baby.
I am thankful for…my job and my husbands job. While we sometimes wish things were different with our jobs, and we sometimes are pushed to our limits we a blessed to both be employed at good jobs that help provide all of the needs of our family.
From the kitchen… I have started a pot roast in the crock-pot. I love crock pot cooking it is easy and hassle free. When we get home from church later the house should be smelling pretty good.
I am wearing… still in my cozy 100% cotton cozy t-shirt pajamas, but will need to get ready for church soon.
I am going… to go to church and then have a lazy Sunday afternoon. We may take the kids out to get some ice cream.
I am wondering… what is wrong with my dog. He is getting older and last night we had a scare with him. He was laying down and all of the sudden his body became stiff and he was shaking, and drooling. We tried to get him to walk into the house to his pillow but he could not even walk. About 30 minutes later he was acting like his old self again, but still drooling which he in not normally a drooler. Guess we will be making an appointment for him early in the week to see what we are dealing with.
I am reading… Clam my Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow
I am hoping… that I get a phone call soon inviting me to a job interview. I am ready to take the next step in my career. Now I just need to get an interview and a job to make it happen.
I am looking forward to… our family vacation. In 14 days we leave on a 7 day cruise. I think our family needs this time and adventure in our lives right now.
Around the house… there is always something that needs to be done, but nothing is getting done today.
I am pondering… what changes I need to make to get out of my current weight loss stall. I have not lost anything since Christmas. I am maintaining my loss of 65 pounds, but I really need to drop about 40 more pounds to be in a healthy weight range.
A favorite quote for today… Work like you don’t need the money, love like you’ve never been hurt and dance like no one is watching- Randall G Leighton
One of my favorite things… date night with David. I love the quiet time we get to spend together.
A few plans for the rest of the week… I am running an in-service for teachers this week. This is the first time I have done this and I actually planned the event, and wrote all of the curriculum. I plan on making it a success and not falling flat on my face.
I am praying for…my church. We are currently starting an expansion. We need the city/county to approve the plans and for the money to come in. I love that my church does projects like this debt free. I hate to see church go into debt to build buildings. I am also praying for Erin the daughter of a friend who recently had a cancer and a heart transplant. She went home last week, I pray that she continues to recover.
A picture to share…. my new smile. I did not like having braces, but I love the end result.
