Thankfulness Day 5- Lee

leeLife is a tapestry woven by the decisions we make.”  – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Today I am thankful for Lee College, now known as Lee University.  In 1990 I made a decision that would forever change my life when I decided to attend Lee.   I am so thankful for the time that I spent at Lee and the experiences I had while a student and employee there.

At Lee I made many life decisions that have made me into the person that I am today. I met and married the love of my life. I decided on a major, and graduated with the skills I would need to be successful in my career. I had some of the most wonderful professors anyone could ever want.  David and I both graduated with degrees from Lee and have been able to pursue successful careers.

While at Lee, David and I met lifelong friends. While we don’t get to see them very often we keep up with them with the use of social media. This past weekend David and I made a trip back to Cleveland to visit old friends and the campus.  It was so much fun reminiscing about times gone by. While the campus looked very different it still felt the same.

I got the opportunity to show Caleb and Madilyn the spot where David proposed to me. The original fountain where he proposed is now gone and has been replaced with a newer fancier model but the spot will always be special to me. I also got to show them the desk I worked at for years as an assistance switchboard operator. I could not show them my office in Accounts Payable, but I was able to tell them about my work there.

What are you thankful for today?
