Lloyd Weekly

Lloyd_L016(chalkboard)I have been a bad blogger the past few weeks. Life has been moving at a fast pace and work has been very stressful. I am praying that the coming week things will get back to normal at work.

Madilyn was very disappointed that our two week Christmas Break was extended a few days. She really loves school and did not like having the extra days off for “cold weather.”  Now that she is back in routine she is happy and doing great. She really enjoys school and loves spending time with her friends.

I cannot believe that in just a few short months Caleb will be done with high school. He did not mind the extra days off for Christmas break, even though it delayed starting his final semester of school.  Caleb spent a lot of time during break working on college and scholarship applications. He is now busy working lots of AP course work.

David is currently looking for a new contract or job. We would prefer contract work because it is easier for our family for him to have a flexible schedule. We have become very spoiled over the past several years with him not having to be on a regulated daily schedule.  Writing letters of application and sending resumes has become his job for now. We are praying that he will find a good position very soon.

As for me work has been very difficult. I love working in the guidance office. However, there are times that I wish I had my office in the classroom on the back hallway like I did my first year working here. For those who don’t know last week one of our students committed suicide. It was a shock to everyone on campus. Her friends are in shock and denial. Our office area has become a place full of tears, questions, and turmoil. It will take time for these students to move on, but it is difficult and stressful to watch.

David and I have started working out in the mornings together. It has been tough, but gets easier each morning. My arms are killing me. I have never really worked out using weights before and my little 3lbs weights are making me sweat. With each new day we both have more endurance.  We are feeling better and have more energy. Soon we should be seeing the physical results of our efforts. I am still also going to the gym 4 days a week after work.
