Family life is a bit like a runny peach pie – not perfect but who’s complaining? ~Robert Brault
Today I am thankful for my extended family. While we may not always agree with each other, and have our differences we are still family. (more…)

He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree. ~Roy L. Smith
Today I am thankful for Christmas. Because of the birth of Jesus we have so much to live for. I am thankful to know that God loves us so much that he sent his son to live among us and to die for our sins. Not only did he die a horrible death but he had a glorious resurrection. (more…)
~Arthur Rubinstein The seasons are what a symphony ought to be: four perfect movements in harmony with each other.
How boring life on earth would be if we only had one season. Today I am thankful that we do have several seasons throughout the year. I am thankful that I live in an area of the county that distinctly experiences all four of the unique seasons throughout the year. (more…)
Church isn’t where you meet. Church isn’t a building. Church is what you do. Church is who you are. Church is the human outworking of the person of Jesus Christ. Let’s not go to Church, let’s be the Church. – Bridget Willard
Today I am thankful for my church home. We have been attending Life Bible Church for just over a year. When we decided that we needed to change churches it was hard because I hate change. Even when I know that change is needed and will be good I hate it. I am a person that likes to stay in my comfort zone and change means leaving that zone. I am thankful that I was able to face and embrace change in this area of my life, because it has truly been nothing but good for our family. We have all grown and learned so much during the past year. (more…)
A sister can be seen as someone who is both ourselves and very much not ourselves – a special kind of double. ~Toni Morrison
Today I am thankful for my five sisters. We may fuss, fight, and disagree but in the end all that matters is that we are sisters. Sisters are the people in which you confide your hopes, dreams, and reality. Sisters are the people who will listen to you even when they have a “to do list” that is three miles long. Sisters are the people that you learn to depend on when everything in life seems to be going wrong. Sisters are the people who can look you straight in the eye and tell you that you are being stupid and you need to get your head screwed back on right. Sisters are the people that you can dislike one moment and love the next. (more…)
Charity sees the need, not the cause. ~German Proverb
I am thankful that I do not live day to day not knowing how I am going to provide for my children. I am thankful that David and I have taken opportunity and made wise choices in order to make a better life for ourselves and our children. I am thankful that we depend not on ourselves but on God.
We have become callous as a nation. (more…)
I want to be a grown up when I grow up ~Madilyn to Ms. Kayla
Today I am thankful for the wonderful day care center we have for Madilyn. We have been blessed to have found a local child care provider who has been part of our lives since Madilyn was 7 weeks old. The owner and teachers are hands on and have a desire to not only care for the children but to help them learn and to build relationships with families. (more…)
“The constitutional freedom of religion is the most inalienable and sacred of all human rights.”- Thomas Jefferson
Today I am thankful that I am able to practice my religion without the fear of persecution by the government. Recently at my church we have been talking about and praying for those who are being persecuted for their beliefs. With our current levels of religious freedoms it is very hard to imagine that others around the world are being killed for preaching Christianity. It saddens my heart. (more…)
The greatest wealth is health. ~Virgil
Today I am thankful for the good health of my family. We are so blessed to be a family unit that rarely experiences illness. Caleb is 15 and I can count the times he has been truly ill on one hand. Madilyn had us worried about her health for the first year of her life. However, the past two years she has been a perfectly healthy child.
Your family and your love must be cultivated like a garden. Time, effort, and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep any relationship flourishing and growing. – Jim Rohn
Today I am thankful for family time. I really missed my family while I was in graduate school. It seemed like I always had a paper to write, project to finish, or reading to do. (more…)
