Day 8~ Short Commute

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

Each year it seems to take less time to fly across the ocean and longer to drive to work.  ~Author Unknown

Today I am thankful for my short commute to work. I an hour or more to get to work I feel like I am in heaven. I love working in the community in which I live. I also love the extra time I have since I am not spending hours on the road each day. (more…)

Thankfulness~ Day 5

Saturday, November 5th, 2011

We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves. ~ Francois Duc de La Rochefoucauld.

Today I am thankful for the ladies who I have grown close to through the Life Bible Church Ladies Bible Study. I don’t like pretending. I have found that I don’t have to pretend with these ladies. I can be me and they actually like me.  They accept me just the way I am, baggage and all. (more…)

Thankfulness~ Day 4

“A hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank…but the world may be a better place because I made a difference in the life of a child.” — Forest Witcraft

Today I am thankful that I am a teacher. I love that I get to do a job that I enjoy. I am so thankful that I do not have to work at a job that I hate and dread going to each day. I love seeing my students after they graduate and hearing about their success in life after high school. It makes my heart sing when a former student tells me how much they appreciate how I taught them, and how they could  tell I really cared about them. (more…)

Thankfulness~ Day 3

“Graduation is a time of completion, of finishing, of an ending, however, it is also a time of celebration of achievement and a beginning for the new graduate.” — Catherine Pulsifer

Today I am thankful to have finished graduate school. When I decided to go back to school in 2007 to pursue a Master’s Degree I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had not been a student since my prior graduation from Lee College in 1995. Last time I was in school, I was in my early 20’s, a newly wed with no children and no full time job. I found out quickly that is is so much harder to go to school while trying to be a wife, mother, and full time professional employee. (more…)

While we try to teach our children all about life, Our children teach us what life is all about. ~Angela Schwindt

Today I am thankful for my children, Caleb and Madilyn. My children have brought so much happiness and joy into my life. My only complaint about them is that they are growing up way to fast. I wish that they would slow down and not be in such a hurry to grow up. (more…)

“I’d do it again you know? Us, you, me the kids, all of it. I’d do it again. I’d choose you every time. “- Phil Foster from the movie “Date Night”

Today, I am thankful for David, my wonderful husband and the marriage that we have built together. We have been married 20 and 1/2  years. I know we do not look old enough to have been married that long. But it is true we have been together for just over 2 decades~ man that makes me sound old.  Guess what, I would do it all again. 24 Days of Thankfulness

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.  ~Epictetus

On November 1, I am starting a blog post series called “24 Days of Thankfulness“.  I did this series last year and it really helped me to focus on being thankful for all of the great things in my life. The purpose in doing this series again is to help me to refocus on the blessings that I have in life. I truly do live a blessed life. Sometimes it is hard to remember all of the blessings I have. It is so easy to focus on the negative things in life that often times I forget how blessed I truly am. (more…)

The Thankfulness Journey

Friday, November 26th, 2010

“The road of life twist and turns and no two directions are ever the same, yet our lessons come from the journey not the destination.” Don Williams, Jr.

The past 25 days in which I have posted my series entitled “25 Days of Thankfulness” has been a marvelous journey for me. During the past 25 days I have focused on the good in my life and have resisted thinking about the negative things in my life. I have dug deep into my soul to discover the things in life in which I am truly thankful. (more…)

Thankfulness Day 25

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

“In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.”–John 14:2

Today I am thankful to know that my life here in this world is not all that there is to life. God has specifically told us that he is preparing a place for us with his father in his house. I can only imagine what Heaven will be like. I am sure that my imagination can not do the work of our God  justice. We his children are blessed beyond measure to know that he is waiting for us with his arms open wide.

What are you thankful for today?

Thankfulness Day 24

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

And be kind one to another: merciful, forgiving one another, even as God has forgiven you in Christ.- Ephesians 4:32

Today I am thankful for the forgiveness of God. We all make mistakes in our lives and at times we all need to fall on our faces and ask for forgiveness. I am so glad that we have a father who is willing to forgive us when we fall short and sin. Without the forgiveness of God we would be a lost people with no purpose in living our lives. The forgiveness of God toward us is the perfect example of how we should be forgiving of others who cause us harm.

What are you thankful for today?
