“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” Ephesians 5:25
My husband is my hero. He has always been and continues to be my greatest supporter. I am incredibly blessed to call David my husband. I am so thankful for him and all that he does for me and our family. I love him more today than I did when we first married. Our days together grow sweeter with each passing day.
With that being said…..
I am reminded that as much as my husband loves and supports me, his love is so small compared to the love that God has for me. His love is only a sampling of the love of my everlasting father. The love David has for me is like one drop of water in the ocean compared to the love that Christ has for me. It is hard to imagine a love so great. The love that God has for us is hard to comprehend
but it is there
and it is true
and it is never ending.
Some of my favorite verses that reflect his love for us
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—
1 John 4:9-11 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Psalm 86:15 But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Isaiah 41:13 – For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
