Spring has arrived. I am so glad we have light longer at night. We have enjoyed being able to play outside once we arrive home in the afternoons. This week was much better than last week.
Madilyn is still doing well. It is amazing to see how much her reading has improved since January. Her teacher told me in January she was at a level 9 on the Rigby reading scaled. She is now at a level 14, which puts her right on track to be on or above level by the end of the school year. She is currently reading her first chapter book. She really enjoyed going to the school book fair and being able to pick out “real” books and not little kid books.
Caleb was able to come home for a few days. I hate that his Spring Break is different from ours. He did not get to have fun on this break. He spent time working on school work, getting his car repaired, and helping us with a few things around the house. In just a few short weeks he will be done with his first year of college. Time is flying. At least for me it is, I am not sure it is moving at the same rate for Caleb.
Friday night Madilyn and I had daughter mommy time, while David and Caleb had some dad and son time. Madilyn and I went to Bingo night at her school. We did not win anything but we had lots of fun. David and Caleb went to the shooting range. They had a good time.
David and I are still plugging away at work. It is my busy season, vetting new students for next year. The days are long and I am exhausted at night. There is light at the end of the tunnel, the busy season will soon be over. I am just over 20% done with reading the Bible in a year. Thankfully I am finished with Leviticus, that book is so hard to read. However, there are still some lessons to be learned from Leviticus. I will have to write those down in another post soon.
Just five more days of work and then we are off for Spring Break. David also has the week off. We are hoping to have fun and make some great family memories. But first we must get through the next 5 days of work.
