Snow Days

We woke up Monday to a yard full of beautiful white snow and no school. News reports state that our area received 6 to 7 inches of snow. Our measurements are more along the lines of 3 to 4 inches. The last time we had snow fall like this was in 1993.

Madilyn has enjoyed walking in the snow and swinging on her swing. Of course, for her it is never too cold to swing. Caleb used a make-shift sled and took a few trips down the hill. Piglet wants nothing to do with the snow and has spent most of his days curled up on his pillow in the family room. We have kept a fire in the fire place almost nonstop and have just enjoyed having an extra long weekend. Well everyone except David enjoyed an extra long weekend, the downside of working from home is that you don’t get snow days.

We ventured out last night for dinner at TacoMac.  I think we all needed to get out of the house for a little while. Snow Day #3 is on tap for today.

It tickles me that 3-4 inches gives you THREE snow days… enjoy the snow while it lasts!

We already had one prior to Christmas so we will be having to make up days sometime later this year. The problem is that our county does not have enough equipment to de-ice roads and we have so many hills in our county. The kids are loving it now but will be hating it when we have to make some of these days up. Our road is off the beaten path and is almost solid ice, but the main road is clear. I don’t think we will go to school the rest of this week- but we’ll see.
