Sometimes it’s the smallest things that bring a smile to my face. This morning on the way to work, Madilyn got all excited and began to talk about how beautiful the pink and blue sky looked. She had the biggest smile and her face and kept asking me if I thought it was beautiful. Indeed I did think it was beautiful.
I was glad that she called my attention to the marvelous colors of the sky this morning. I was in such a rush, I don’t think I would have taken the time to notice had she not pointed it out to me. I was thrilled that she noticed the beauty that we were blessed with this morning. I was happy that she wanted to make sure that I also stopped and took notice of the beautiful sky.
I have tried to instill in my children that it is important to appreciate the small things, like a beautiful sunrise on a busy morning and a cool breeze on a hot summer afternoon. It brought a smile to my face to hear the excitement in her voice as she talked about the sunrise this morning.
