We had a fun week. We decided to take a trip up to Pigeon Forge to see some family and friends. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and were able to stay until Wednesday morning. David took Monday and Tuesday off so we were able to enjoy our time with both of us being work free. Owning your own business does not allow for that to happen very often.
We were able to spend time with David’s Aunt and Uncle. We really enjoyed seeing them and spending some time with them. Madilyn loves her Uncle Archie. Of course I have never seen a kid that was not drawn to him. She had a blast playing with him and is already asking when we can go and see them again.
We also got to spend time with the Manis Family. We have been friends with them for 20 years. They have 8 kids… yes you read that right 8. They adopted 6 kids and then got a surprise pregnancy that resulted in twins. They are such a fun family to be around. We went to dinner with them one night and then they had us over for a nice lunch on New Year’s Day. I think we enjoy being with them so much because we have had many of the same experiences in growing our families.
While in Tennessee we did not do any of the “normal” tourist activities. We made the trip to visit friends and family and that is what we did. We had such a good time just hanging out that we did not feel the need to go out and see the sights.
Wednesday was spent traveling home, unpacking, and working on getting paperwork and photos together for Caleb’s passport renewal. Next week we must all get back on our regular schedules. This break has been a good one and I am thankful for the time off and time spent with David and the kids.
