People spend too much time looking for more. Instead, of appreciating what they already have!- Unknown
Today I am thankful that my needs food, shelter, and clothing are not only provided but provided in an abundant manner.
I am thankful that we have never had to wonder where our next meal is going to come from. I am thankful that we have never had to wonder where we will take shelter for the night. I am thankful that we have never had to wonder how we will clothe ourselves. I am thankful that my children do not know what it is like to be hungry and cold with no place to sleep at night. I feel blessed.
I admit in hard times I sometimes fret about what will happen to my family financially and I wonder how our needs will be met. It is easy to give into human emotion and worry about what is to come. When I start to doubt I remember this verse–“Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matthew 6:26). It is so encouraging to remember that I have a heavenly father that will take care of me if I will just allow him to do so.
I think sometimes we forget how good we have things. We take our blessings for granted and complain that we don’t have more than we already have. We may not always have the best of the best, but we always have more than enough to meet our needs. I hope that I am instilling a heart of thankfulness in all things within the hearts of my children. I hope that they are learning that it is important to be grateful for what they have.
What are you thankful for today?
