We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully- Romans (12:6-8).
Today I am thankful that God gave me the heart of a giver. Giving to others brings me tremendous joy. I would rather give than receive any day of the week. Giving does not have to be big or monitory to make a difference. Giving comes in many forms and can be big or small. Giving does not have to be public for all to see. I actually prefer to give to others in an anonymous fashion.
In our home we try to teach our children that giving to others is important. We want our children to know that it is always better to give than to recieve. We find that to be especially true during the holiday season. I hope as the grow they will come to know the pure joy of giving to others.
What are you thankful for today?
