Thankfulness Day 23- Technology

tech“Never let a computer know you’re in a hurry.  ~Author Unknown

Today I am thankful for technology.  There are so many different aspects of technology that impact our lives on a daily basis.

I am an avid social media user.  Without this technology I do not know how I would keep up with family and friends.  I know that many people do not like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram but these pieces of technology help keep me connected to family and friends.  Social media technology allows me to upload a photos  of the kids within seconds of snapping the picture. I can make a comment or send instant messages to family and friends so that they know I am thinking about them. I can also see what my family and friends are up to by seeing their post.

Technology is how my family is supported. For many years I taught students how to use and implement technology. I loved teaching computing to students. I don’t know if I would have been a successful academic teacher. David has created software for the past 23 years. Without technology there is no telling what kind of jobs we would be working right now.

Technology makes my home life easier. Everything we use from washers, dryers, dishwashers and the central air and heating system rely on some type of technology to work properly. All of these things make my life a little easier and allow me to spend more time with David and the kids.

I am able to keep my home life organized with the use of an online calendar. David, Caleb and I can all enter in events so that we all know what is going on with the others. It makes it easy when trying to plan around the schedules of others. When the family tires of the same old meals I can locate many recipes to try within a matter of minutes. My house is less cluttered because I can download books to my iPad and read as much as I like.

Technology is an important part of my life. I use it daily and I am thankful for the ease in which I have access to technology each and every day.

What are you thankful for today?
