I am taking time today to reflect on a few of the simple things in life. It is good to sit and reflect on life and not just allow it to pass you by. I have not blogged about weight loss in a while. Don’t worry I have NOT fallen off the wagon I have just had more festive things to blog about lately. I am happy to report that I was able to maintain during Thanksgiving and since then I have lost a few additional pounds. Now if I can keep away from our frosted sugar Christmas cookies I’ll be doing good. (more…)
Lessons from Philippians 3

Our happiness and joy should be in our source of salvation not in our possessions or circumstances (past or present). This is so hard to remember in the midst of distress and emotional times. It is very hard to remember that we are not citizens of this world and that the things that cause us distress are really small in the grand scheme of things. Philippians 3 serves as a reminder that our hope, joy, and life are all found in God. (more…)
Family Update

It is so hard to get back into a normal routine after having a week off for vacation. We have all had a tough time getting back into the swing of things this week.
I think that the weather being cold and rainy along with the fact that we have started getting ready for the Christmas season made it even harder for all of us to get back to normal everyday routine. Its good to be home and its good to be almost back on schedule. (more…)
Christmas Cards

On the first Saturday of December I make my kids dress up in their Christmas clothing and pose for hours in front of the Christmas Tree, fire place, Nativity, and any other area of the house that is decked out for the holidays. The goal is to snap the PERFECT photo for the yearly family Christmas card. Sometimes we take 200 or more pictures trying to get a great shot to adorn the front of our card. (more…)
Jigsaw Puzzle

Our family is like a jigsaw puzzle. We are all different in our own ways, but somehow we all fit together to form a complete picture. In spite of our individual differences we somehow fit together to form a cohesive unit that is able to live, love, and work together. Bad week

Its only Tuesday and I am chalking this week up to being a bad week. I am having one of those weeks where I have a ton to do at work and home and have no motivation to get it done. It has also been one of those weeks where nothing I try to do gets done the way I intend for it to be done. Its just a bad stressful week. I want a do-over. (more…)
