Give a Kid a Chance

Saturday I had fun shopping with the kids. I do not normally take the kids shopping with me but today I thought they needed to go. I took the kids because we were doing shopping for “Give a Kid a Chance.”  I like for the kids to do this shopping with me so that they can learn the importance of giving to others.  The purpose of “Give a Kid a Chance” is to provide children in our community with needed school supplies to start the year off right. In the economy we are currently experiencing there will be many families needing help with basic school supplies this year. As a teacher, Christian, former foster parent and mom I feel a huge desire to help with this cause as much as I can.

I spent time having Caleb look for quality items, not just the cheapest thing on the shelf.  It is important to me when giving to others to give the best quality we can afford to give. While I like to save money, I want to give quality items that will stand the test of time.  We did find a few good deals on paper, notebooks, and pencils.

I really hope that as my children grow and mature they will learn that giving to others is better than receiving something for yourself.  I have always loved to give and hope that my children will grow to love giving just as much as I do.

Deal of the week:

Sprial 1 subject notebooks college ruled: .15 each

#2 Pencils box of 20: $.75 each
