This one’s for the Girls…

This post is for all the girls and women out there. Men may want to quit reading now.

Did you know that studies have shown that approximately 80% of women wear the wrong bra size? As the years go by it is easier to just wear what you are used to wearing which can cause many problems. Studies have shown that wearing the wrong size bra contributes to back pain, chronic headaches, rashes, and restricted breathing in addition to being uncomfortable. I did not know that the constant headaches I experienced could be caused by an ill fitting bra.

A couple of weeks ago I decided that I really needed to have a proper bra fitting done. I am 38 years old and have never had this done. Imagine my surprise when I found that I was indeed one of the 80% of women who routinely wear the wrong size bra. I had my fitting done at Madienform located in the Dawsonville Outlet Mall. The  fitting took all of 3 minutes to complete, followed by about 20 minutes of shopping for the right bras that fit my body. I have noticed a big difference in how my back feels each day and how my clothing fits and looks. I found 4 bras that fit and feel great for around $100.

Many women have failed to have this done because they feel that it will be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Others are also under the impression that they have to go to the “fancy and expensive” stores to have a professional bra fitting session.  All of these EXCUSES are false and are just EXCUSES.  Most women’s clothing stores that sales bras can and will  do a bra fitting for you upon request.  You can also do a fitting without removing your clothing. Some gyms (Curves and others) will be able to give you a measurement for you to take to the store if you prefer not to have a fitting done by a store employee. I have also been told that OBGYN’s are more than happy to take measurements for you since the right bra will improve your general health when it comes to back pain and headaches.

If you still don’t want to go and have a bra fitting done google “how to measure yourself for a bra” and a ton of websites will come up that go step by step through the process.

If you want to look better and feel better make sure you are wearing the right size bra for you.
