This time last week, I was sitting on a beautiful sandy beach, without a care in the world. What I would not do to be back in that paradise instead of here with all the demands of life pressing on me.
During our days at the beach each morning I enjoyed the beautiful view from the balcony followed by a long stroll on the sandy beach shore. I loved seeing the waves, feeling the ocean breeze, and smelling the fresh clean air. My days were spent playing, swimming, and laughing with my kids. At night, I took in the glorious moonlit beach views and wondered at the peaceful night skies. So many stars could be seen dazzling above that it made the sky mesmerizing. I was reminded time and time again that God created this world and all of its little miracles and we should take time to enjoy the beauty of creation.
It was wonderful to be without a schedule or “to do list.” It was even nicer to not have to cook, clean, and do laundry. These days were special and unlike my typical days. I wish that we had more times full of peace and relaxation. I need to remember that even when we are not on vacation, I can make time to slow down, relax, and enjoy the beauty that God has surround me with.
