The kids and I enjoyed our winter break by staying home. Unfortunately David had to work so he did not get a lot of time off this week. I thought about taking a trip to Florida to see family, but decided that we needed to just stay home. It has been forever since we have had an extended period of time to just hang out at home.
On Monday we took care of a few appointments and then spent the day getting ready for a visit from David’s brother Stephen and his family. It was really good to see them and to meet our baby niece Lilly. On Tuesday, Madilyn and I went shopping for her spring wardrobe. We found some really cute outfits and had fun together. Wednesday we just hung out at home and wasted time watching movies. Thursday we went to the zoo. It was a perfect weather day for a visit to Zoo Atlanta. David was able to sneak away from work and join in on the fun. After a nice afternoon at the zoo we went out to eat. Friday, Madilyn was missing her friends and I had a lot to do so she went to daycare and I took care of some household chores.
I set a goal at the start of the week to exercise every day during break. I was able to meet my goal, which made me feel really good. I went to the gym and worked out everyday except for Tuesday. I went to the local walking track every day except for Thursday. Of course on I walked a lot on Thursday at the zoo so I don’t feel bad about not walking the track on that day. I am hoping to continue with going to the gym or walking everyday during the coming weeks. I have made a tentative plan for including gym time or walking time in each day. I will work the plan during the upcoming week and make adjustments until I can figure out a plan that will work with our schedules. It is so easy to make excuses not to exercise especially when I get busy with work and home life.
I am so thankful that we had a restful week. The weather was perfect and we had fun as a family even though we did not take a “real vacation.” Its back to work and our busy schedule next week, but Spring Break is coming up on the horizon.
