We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9
With my history you would think I would have learned this lesson a long time ago. Things do not always go how we want them to go. Lately it seems like my life is changing and not going exactly as I have planned.
I am very good at making plans. I am excellent at following plans. I thrive in planned environments and situations. I am terrible at changing plans. I do not like surprises or unexpected road blocks. I do not like delays. I do not like the mess that comes with plans falling apart. I want everything to run in a smooth and concise manner. In a nutshell I want everything to go according to plan.
However, we are human and our plans can never be set in stone. We get thrown curve balls and our plans fall through. Sometimes things happen that completely rock our world and make us change direction entirely. When the unexpected happens we need to remain calm and remember that God has a perfect plan for our lives. We can plan all we want, but God is in control and he is the ultimate planner for our lives.
