For the past year and a half we have been like Jonah, God told us to go to one place and we chose to go to another. We have been “trapped” in the belly of a whale of our own making. (more…)

I don’t think I have mentioned lately that I LOVE coupons. Tonight as I was checking out the man in line behind me told me that I needed to teach his wife how to use coupons. I took that as a compliment. (more…)

If you have been reduced to God being your only hope, You are in a good place. – Jim Laffon
Sometimes the only thing that gets a person through the most difficult and disappointing times in life is holding on to hope. In our lives sometimes hope is all we have. We face struggles in life not knowing what the outcomes will be. Somehow we know that we can not give up or loose hope. I have seen people who have lost all hope and in the process many of them have lost their faith in God. I don’t want to be one of those hopeless people. I want to cling to the hope that God has given me through him. (more…)
A perfect weekend
Tuesday, October 5th, 2010
The Lloyd Family had a great weekend and we are looking forward to next weekend which will be an extra day long due to a teacher furlough day. We have already made plans to fill the entire weekend. This past Saturday, David and Caleb helped a local church that we have visited with some renovations. I love that Caleb is learning to volunteer and help others with a spirit of love and care. The world needs more people who are willing to step up and help others when they see a need. (more…)

Once again, I was able to keep my grocery bill under $100.00 this week. My total prior to BOGO and sales was $155.68. I paid only $79.25 saving a total of $76.43. In addition to my groceries I purchased two greeting cards at a cost of $4.75.
Every time I think I am too tired or too busy to clip coupons and match up sale advertisements I remind myself that if I don’t take the time to coupon shop I am robbing my family of money that can be used for other things. Since we donate a lot of what we purchase I am also robbing my family of the chance to help others in need when I don’t take time to coupon shop.
A Season of Hope

I have been dreading the arrival of the fall and winter seasons for the past few months. Just the smell in the air and drop in temperature is a reminder of the events of last Fall. Fall 2009, started out as one of the happiest times of my life. However, it ended up being the most painful and sad time I have ever experienced. (more…)

Is it lying?

I know that I should not be concerned about what others think about me but there is one situation that bothers me a lot, and it seems to come up often. I often feel the need to clear up any confusion because I don’t want people to get the wrong idea. (more…)

“Compassion without action is just pity, when Christ cared he took action, we need to see others where they are and take action” Robbie Schwandt
The sales on soups, canned vegetables and cereal have been pretty good the past few weeks. Now is the perfect time to stock up in order to help the local food banks with the upcoming holiday season. Within the next few weeks I will be boxing up extra soup, vegetables and cereals and dropping them off at MUST Ministries in order to help those in my community that are in need. I hope that some of my readers will do the same. (more…)
