We started our day with a wonderful breakfast of fresh fruit, croissants, and quiche in the gazebo. Once again it was nice to have a meal without rushing. After breakfast we got around and went shopping in the Dahlonega Square. There were a lot of cute shops to visit. We had lunch at Caruso’s Italian Restaurant. They make their own pizza crust daily and the pizza tasted awesome.
After lunch and a little more shopping we returned to the B&B and hung out by the pool. It was such a relaxing time. The pool waterfall and surroundings were very peaceful.
We decided to head to the outlet mall again to pick up a few more items. Once we were shopped out we headed to dinner. We had heard that the Back Porch Oyster Bar was a must when visiting Dahlonega. To say we were disappointed in the food would be an understatement. It was one of the worst meals I have ever been served. David and I both ordered different dishes and we both thought the food was bland and tasted like it came out of boxes. This was totally unexpected since I had read so many positive reviews and know people who have dined there and loved the food. Unfortunately David and I did not have a good experience with this establishment.
After dinner we returned to the lodge and enjoyed wine and vanilla bean cupcakes with lemon filling and frosting from Cupcakes & More on the back deck. It was a beautiful evening to enjoy just sitting outside talking and watching a spider spin his web and catching his dinner.
I wish that we could have more quiet evenings like the ones we have experienced the past few days. Unfortunately our lives are busy and we seldom get the opportunity to just sit back and relax and do nothing. Despite the horrible dinner David and I had another AWESOME day together.

Awwww!!! That hurts my feelings that you got poor food! You should have spoken with the owners! They were great to us when we went there! I loved the B&B. Sounds like you guys had the same package we did with the picnic lunch, champagne and strawberries, and wine tastings! I LOVED Sharon’s food! She was so sweet, too! So glad you got to have a break for the every day!
Not your fault about the food. Sharon highly recommended them too. We were the only customers in there that night. It was just overall a strange experience. We LOVED the B&B and Sharon treated us great. We were her only guest all four days so we got the VIP treatment.
