The news is filled with stories of parents not being parents. Sometimes I read news stories in shock and wonder how is this person or that person able to be a parent. I don’t think I have ever seen a news story profiling awesome parents. Of course the news is filled with parent fails, people like to read those and judge the parents and say, “I would never do that.” People would not be nearly as interested in stories about successful parents. I laughed when I read the online comments from the public deeming “all” of the youth of America to be out of control “thugs“. I am so tired of all of the negative news about public schools and public school teachers. I cannot remember the last time I saw a truly positive news article concerning the public school system or the employees of the system. LEGOLAND
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014This past week we had Fall Break. I love this break. It is a nice reprieve from the busyness of school and work. This year we decided that for the most part we would spend the time at home and check out a few local places that we had never been before. Saturday, August 9th, 2014Caleb graduated high school on May 31. Since I am an employee of the school I was able to go behind the scenes and see him with his friends prior to the ceremony. I am glad that I had the opportunity to visit with the students and my son prior to their big moment. (more…)
