Religion
I grew up in a religious home, went to a religious college and am now trying to live my life not as a religious person but as a Christ Follower. I like many others struggle with faith and have doubts. I know God has a plan for me, sometimes I just wish he would show it me.

Church isn’t where you meet. Church isn’t a building. Church is what you do. Church is who you are. Church is the human outworking of the person of Jesus Christ. Let’s not go to Church, let’s be the Church. – Bridget Willard
Today I am thankful for my church home. We have been attending Life Bible Church for just over a year. When we decided that we needed to change churches it was hard because I hate change. Even when I know that change is needed and will be good I hate it. I am a person that likes to stay in my comfort zone and change means leaving that zone. I am thankful that I was able to face and embrace change in this area of my life, because it has truly been nothing but good for our family. We have all grown and learned so much during the past year. (more…)

Charity sees the need, not the cause. ~German Proverb
I am thankful that I do not live day to day not knowing how I am going to provide for my children. I am thankful that David and I have taken opportunity and made wise choices in order to make a better life for ourselves and our children. I am thankful that we depend not on ourselves but on God.
We have become callous as a nation. (more…)

“The constitutional freedom of religion is the most inalienable and sacred of all human rights.”- Thomas Jefferson
Today I am thankful that I am able to practice my religion without the fear of persecution by the government. Recently at my church we have been talking about and praying for those who are being persecuted for their beliefs. With our current levels of religious freedoms it is very hard to imagine that others around the world are being killed for preaching Christianity. It saddens my heart. (more…)

We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves. ~ Francois Duc de La Rochefoucauld.
Today I am thankful for the ladies who I have grown close to through the Life Bible Church Ladies Bible Study. I don’t like pretending. I have found that I don’t have to pretend with these ladies. I can be me and they actually like me. They accept me just the way I am, baggage and all. (more…)

I don’t normally promote self-help or advice books, but I just can not resist recommending the book Made to Crave by Lisa Terkeurst. I have read and reread this book many times. If I had this book in print copy I know that the pages would be dog eared and full of high lights and notes. Made to Crave is one of the few books I have actually paid to download to my iPad. (more…)

The text of Philippians Chapter 2 very rich and thought provoking if the reader will allow it to be. In just 30 short verses, I find myself being challenged to be a better Christian and to rethink the way I do some things. (more…)

There is a big difference between reading God’s word and studying God’s word. I am so thankful to be part of the ladies Bible study at Life Bible Church. Often times formal Bible studies turn into nothing more than a social hour followed by a gossip session known as prayer request time. This is absolutely not the case with the ladies at Life Bible Church, and it is truly refreshing. (more…)

Today as I was doing my Bible study and reflection time this verse spoke to me. “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 (more…)

This time last week, I was sitting on a beautiful sandy beach, without a care in the world. What I would not do to be back in that paradise instead of here with all the demands of life pressing on me. (more…)

If you know me you have more than likely defined who I am based on your relationship, perceptions, and interactions with me. Those people reading this who don’t know me will more than likely form a definition of me based on what they find on this blog. (more…)
