I grew up in a religious home, went to a religious college and am now trying to live my life not as a religious person but as a Christ Follower. I like many others struggle with faith and have doubts. I know God has a plan for me, sometimes I just wish he would show it me.

David and I have been together for 21.5 years. During that time we have had several life changing, tragic, emergencies happen in our lives. Each one of these events has brought us closer together. This summer I have had a lot of TIME to do not only the things that I need to do but I also have time to do the things I want to do. I don’t have to punch a clock, be in a meeting or get anything done for work. I am not tied to a desk or an office and it is wonderful. (more…)

Sometimes it is hard for me to remember that my children are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God himself. I need to be reminded of this on a regular basis. When you look at your children knowing that they have been created in God’s own image you just have to try to find something positive to say to them even on the worst of days.

A few days ago I woke up with Phil. 4:13 running through my head and heart. Lately have been having feelings of failure, especially as it relates to weight loss. I know that I am not a failure but it is hard not to feel that way when the numbers on the scales refuse to budge. (more…)
