Religion

I grew up in a religious home, went to a religious college and am now trying to live my life not as a religious person but as a Christ Follower. I like many others struggle with faith and have doubts. I know God has a plan for me, sometimes I just wish he would show it me.

We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves. ~ Francois Duc de La Rochefoucauld.

Today I am thankful for the ladies who I have grown close to through the Life Bible Church. I love this wonderful group of ladies. (more…)

Day 4- My Church

Sunday, November 4th, 2012

Church isn’t where you meet. Church isn’t a building. Church is what you do. Church is who you are. Church is the human outworking of the person of Jesus Christ. Let’s not go to Church, let’s be the Church. – Bridget Willard

Today I am thankful for my church.  We have been attending Life Bible Church for two years. This past year has been a year of growth for our church. (more…)

Out of love not obligation…

Monday, October 29th, 2012

David and I have been together for 21.5 years. During that time we have had several life changing, tragic, emergencies happen in our lives. Each one of these events has brought us closer together. All the time in the world

Friday, June 22nd, 2012

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17 (NIV)

This summer I have had a lot of TIME to do not only the things that I need to do but I also have time to do the things I want to do. I don’t have to punch a clock, be in a meeting or get anything done for work. I am not tied to a desk or an office and it is wonderful. (more…)

In his image

Saturday, May 5th, 2012

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27

Sometimes it is hard for me to remember that my children are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God himself. I need to be reminded of this on a regular basis. When you look at your children knowing that they have been created in God’s own image you just have to try to find something positive to say to them even on the worst of days.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me~ Phil 4:13

A few days ago I woke up with Phil. 4:13 running through my head and heart. Lately have been having feelings of failure, especially as it relates to weight loss. I know that I am not a failure but it is hard not to feel that way when the numbers on the scales refuse to budge. (more…)

This is the day…

Monday, March 26th, 2012

Sometimes all it takes is a simple verse to put things into perspective. Yesterday as I was reading my Bible I read the following verse:
