I had originally planned on doing a second planting of our garden for late summer and fall. However I was unable to do so because of my surgery and recovery. The garden has been neglected the past several weeks and needs a lot of work before it can be considered a garden again. Grass has once again overtaken the area.
This week we spent time closing the garden until spring rolls around again. We pulled up all of the dead plants, removed the timber boarder and had Caleb weed-eat the entire area. In addition all of the containers we had used have been emptied, washed and stored for use next year. I am rethinking several aspects of the garden such as location, use of containers, and amount of additional soil to add to the current soil.
I plan on spending time during this fall and winter researching and plotting out our garden space for next year.
